ASUS Radeon EAH5850 1GB Graphics Card Review
Futurelooks and Techgage have posted a review of the ASUS Radeon EAH5850 1GB DirectX 11 graphics card.
Let's see what they had to say:
- Futurelooks:
"In the end, the ASUS HD 5850 presents a conundrum. Our tests show it to have middling performance, but the community at large says “hey this card is great”. I still need to side with the numbers I’ve posted, and hope I can figure out what exactly is going on with this card. The package, build quality, and overall performance does warrant a high rating, but no award can be given due to the question mark above the head of this card in terms of performance. Hopefully we’ll be able to have a second look when drivers are a little more mature. That’s the only thing that one can point their fingers at for this moment."

- Techgage:
"he HD 5850 is a great card, and while ASUS hasn't done much special to this one in particular, I'm sure models with after-market coolers will begin to trickle out as soon as availability improves. It'll be at that point that overclocking might become even more impressive, although it's hard to conclude on that since heat didn't really prove to be a real factor in limiting ours (that I know of).
At $300, this card offers tons of performance, cool additional features including DirectX 11 support (this will be more important next year), runs cool, has superb power consumption, and comes with a free $40 DirectX 11 game. There's nothing to dislike here. Well, except for the availability."

I really don't know what issues the Futurelooks reviewer could have been having, but all Radeon HD 5850's are identical and they all perform very well indeed.
