ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 AM3 Motherboard Review

Mon 2010-03-08 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
PureOverclock have posted a review of the ASUS M4A89GTD Pro/USB3, an AMD 890GX-based AM3 motherboard that features both SATA 6Gb/s and USB 3.0.

Here's what they had to say:

"In terms of 890GX implementation, the ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 is a fine example of taking new features and integrating additional innovative technologies that really offer a complete package to consumers. Perhaps most significantly is this motherboard's ability to put performance in the hands of users in a friendly interface, such as the Auto Tuning, TurboV EVO, Turbo Key II, and Core Unlocker overclocking tools that are a boon to beginning enthusiasts. For novice overclockers who may be overwhelmed by the abundance of settings, these features are top-notch, providing a performance boost with rock solid stability. For experienced enthusiasts, the M4A89GTD Pro/USB3 offers considerable control and subtle tweaking options that allow this board to be pushed really far, proving that motherboards with integrated graphics are not necessarily overclocking slouches."

This seems like an excellent AM3 motherboard, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to those building an AMD system. Even if you don't plan to use the integrated GPU, the new southbridge is reason enough to pick this AMD chipset over any other.
