SilverStone Fortress FT02 Case Reviews

Fri 2010-03-12 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
Modders-Inc and PureOverclock have reviewed the SilverStone Fortress FT02 case, an aluminium mid-tower case that features the same unique layout as the Raven 2.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • Modders-Inc:

"When I saw this case at CES 2010 the first thing I told Silverstone was I want this case. The clean and simple look draws you in and once you look farther into it you begin to see the other items that make it special. As I pointed out before the different design is a plus and once you get over the idea that the inside had been turned you will probably like the case.

This was my first experience with a 90 degree case, but I am pretty sure that it wont be my last. I think that if you take the plunge and try something different you will find that you may not go back to a regular case layout."

  • PureOverclock:

"Without a doubt, SilverStone has a winner on its hands. Taking parts of the TJ07, FT01, and the Raven designs adds up to one innovative and outstanding case in the Fortress FT02.

While the FT02’s cooling system is based on the Raven RV02 we found SilverStone decided to tone down the somewhat radical appearance for a much more simple design with clean lines that should be aesthetically pleasing to a much wider audience. As we mentioned in the review, the FT02 will look great sitting on a desk in your home office as it will on any enthusiast or gamers’ desk. There just isn’t anything to dislike about a simple yet elegant chassis and that’s what we have with the FT02."

If you like the fundamentals of the Raven 2 but prefer a more conservative design, then the FT02 is what you've been waiting for.
