Gaming Mouse Review Roundup - Gigabyte, Mionix, SteelSeries

Mon 2010-03-15 - Posted by Patrick "MACMAC" MacMillan
BCCHardware, Metku, Tech-Reviews, and TweakTown have reviewed various gaming mice from the likes of Gigabyte, Mionix, and SteelSeries.

Let's see what they had to say:

  • BCCHardware: SteelSeries Xai Laser Gaming Mouse Review:

"I found the SteelSeries Xai laser gaming mouse to be very easy to set-up and use. It has an ergonomic design that is very user friendly. The ten buttons on it can be assigned to anything you choose. The software is easy to understand and use. Overall, it is a very good gaming mouse - with one exception - it feels a little out of balance. If you place your hand in normal position and pick it up it feels a little heavy in the palm. If you like a mouse with a little "junk in the trunk" this would be perfect. After a few hours of use it become familiar; the initial booty shock is what surprised me.

Overall I found the SteelSeries Xai laser gaming mouse to be a very good choice for the hardcore gamer. After using it for a couple of weeks, I would certainly buy one. If you are in the market for a mouse, I would definitely give it a good look."

  • Metku: Mionix NAOS 5000 Gaming Mouse Reviewed:

"Overall the Naos 5000 is a solid performer with some nice software tricks up its sleeve. I still think the shape of any given mouse is the main thing, and the Naos fits my hand perfectly. The build quality, apart from the weight doors, is great: the surface finish is pleasant to use for long periods at a time, and the sleeved cable gives the mouse a nice high quality touch."

  • Tech-Reviews: SteelSeries Kinzu Optical Mouse Review:

"I would absolutely recommend this to any gamer who’s on a budget and wants a quality mouse which they can rely upon. This is an excellent piece of kit, and if it was not so trying during regular usage I would use it as my full-time mouse without any major qualms at all. That said, this has real potential, and signifies that optical mice really aren’t dying out yet, and you don’t have to spend a fortune on a solid gaming mouse."

  • TweakTown: GIGABYTE M8000 Xtreme Gaming Mouse:

"Today, though, the G5 has been unplugged and the M8000X sits in the top spot that is my mouse pad. While I don't consider myself a huge gamer, the M8000X from GIGABYTE does what I consider the most important feature to me well, and that is that it feels comfortable.

As a gaming mouse the M8000X is great; it carries with it all those features you want including a huge amount of buttons, big DPI numbers, on the fly DPI adjustment and a massive amount of macro support."
