4GB DDR3-2133+ Memory Kit Review Roundup
MEGATechNews and TweakTown have reviewed three enthusiast-oriented 4GB DDR3 memory kit rated at DDR3-2133 and above.
Here's what they had to say:
- MEGATechNews: Patriot Memory Sector 5 2250MHz DDR3 Memory Kit Benchmarks:
"About three weeks ago, Patriot Memory announced their newest Sector 5 2250MHz DDR3 Memory Kits for the Intel Core i5/i7 Processors that utilize Dual Channel memory. That means it’s currently designed for motherboards with the Intel P55/P55A Chipsets. This 2x2GB Dual Channel DDR3 kit only needs a cool 1.65 volts to maintain its insanely fast stock 2250MHz frequency along with 9-9-9-27 memory timings. Here’s a quick preview of what these modules can do for you!
As you might have already guessed, the Sector 5 2250MHz memory kits are built with only the best Elpida “HyperChips”. This has allowed the memory to break 2400MHz frequencies approaching 2500MHz. These frequencies are for only the most stout overclockers."

- TweakTown: A-DATA PC3-17600 (2200MHz) Gaming Series 4GB Kit:
"I hate to use the words simple and no fuss here when it comes to describing the Gaming Series PC3-17600 kit from A-DATA for the simple fact being that a 2200MHz DDR kit is hardly simple, but this particular kit from them really is a simple, no fuss kit.
When I say that it's simple and no fuss, though, I don't mean that in a negative way. I simply mean you've got a kit that follows a fairly standard design when it comes to the heatsink and just works at its default speed.
You can't fault a product that does what it's supposed to do and that's exactly what this kit does. Sure, we didn't have much joy when it came to overclocking with only an extra 30MHz DDR being achieved, but it's not a huge deal. As long as it does the stock speed, we're happy."

- TweakTown: Kingston HyperX PC3-17066 (2133MHz) 4GB Kit:
"When it came to overclocking it was surprising to see the kit get such a nice little overclock that equated to an extra 140MHz DDR which is really nothing to sneeze at.
Kingston continue to do what they do best, they bring a good quality, fast memory kit that just works. The heatsink as always is top notch quality and feels great. Performance is good, but there's no doubt that you'll want to make sure you have a decent CPU that can overclock. In saying that, you want to have a decent CPU when it comes to any of these high performance kits."

If you take your benchmarking or overclocking seriously, then a high-end memory kit is definitely a component worth investing in.
