The Gamer's Benchmark for Android

Benchmark your Android smartphone and tablet with 3DMark, then compare its performance with more than 3000 other devices. You can even compare your Android benchmark test scores with phones and tablets running iOS and Windows.

3DMark is used by millions of people, hundreds of hardware review sites and many of the world's leading technology companies. It's the industry standard benchmark for graphics performance measurement, a professional-grade tool available to home users for free.

  • The number one gaming benchmark since 1998, now on Android.
  • Measure GPU and CPU performance with OpenGL ES benchmarks.
  • Rank and compare over 3000 Android devices in the app.
  • Compare scores from Android, iOS, and Windows.
  • Protected by rules for manufacturers, supported by a detailed guide.
  • Easy to use, no technical know-how needed.

Sling Shot

Cross-platform benchmark tests for the latest smartphones and tablets

3DMark Sling Shot benchmark test

Sling Shot

Use 3DMark Sling Shot benchmark test to compare mainstream Android devices with popular iPhone and iPad models.

Sling Shot is a demanding OpenGL ES 3.0 benchmark that tests the full range of API features including multiple render targets, instanced rendering, uniform buffers and transform feedback. The test also includes volumetric lighting, depth of field and bloom post-processing effects. Sling Shot's Graphics tests are rendered at 1920 × 1080 then scaled to your device's display resolution.

You can also run this test offscreen using Unlimited mode to compare CPUs and GPUs.

Sling Shot Extreme

Use 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme to compare flagship Android smartphones and tablets with the latest iPhone and iPad models.

Sling Shot Extreme uses the OpenGL ES 3.1 graphics API and raises the rendering resolution 2560 × 1440. It tests the full range of API features including multiple render targets, instanced rendering, uniform buffers and transform feedback. The test includes volumetric lighting, depth of field and additionally uses Compute Shaders for post-processing effects.

You can also run this test offscreen using Unlimited mode to compare CPUs and GPUs.

Important notes

When comparing scores across platforms, note that the test results reflect both hardware and software. APIs with low overhead, such as Metal, can deliver more performance than OpenGL ES even when the devices have similar hardware.

Even though Cloud Gate and Sling Shot benchmarks look similar and share content they are separate tests. In broad terms, Sling Shot is a lighter test than Cloud Gate. Scores from Cloud Gate on Windows and Sling Shot on mobile are not comparable.

Your device must have Android 5.0 or later and support OpenGL ES 3.0 to run Sling Shot and OpenGL ES 3.1 to run Sling Shot Extreme.

Ice Storm

Cross-platform benchmarking for older smartphones and tablets

Android benchmark Apple benchmark Windows benchmark
3DMark Ice Storm benchmark test

Ice Storm

Use 3DMark Ice Storm to compare basic Android smartphones and tablets with older iPhone and iPad models. Ice Storm includes two Graphics tests to measure GPU performance and a Physics test to stress CPU performance. Ice Storm uses OpenGL ES 2.0 on Android and iOS. On Windows, it uses DirectX 11 feature level 9. You can compare scores across platforms.

Ice Storm Unlimited is a specialized offscreen test for making chip-to-chip comparisons of CPUs & GPUs.

Ice Storm Extreme

Use Ice Storm Extreme to compare low cost smartphones and tablets running Android, iOS and Windows.

Ice Storm Extreme raises the rendering resolution from 1280 × 720 to 1920 × 1080 and uses higher quality textures and post-processing effects in the Graphics tests.
