Senior Software Engineer - 3DMark

Based in Espoo, Finland | Posted September 1, 2014

PCs are on the verge of a generational leap to 4k gaming. Steam OS could be the tipping point for Linux in the living room. And the reality of console quality graphics on mobile devices is just around the corner.

No doubt these are exciting times, yet the more choices we have, the harder it can be to choose. We make 3DMark, the world's most popular performance benchmark. Millions of gamers look to 3DMark to test and compare the latest hardware, and to make better buying decisions based on our accurate, impartial comparisons.

We are looking for a talented developer to join our expert 3DMark team in a full-time, permanent position. You will create the engines that power the next generation of 3DMark tests and help our artists to create stunning, real-time visual effects.

You will be working at the leading edge of new graphics technology. Thanks to our partnerships with world-class companies you will be coding for new APIs and platforms long before they are available to the public.

Those same partnerships mean that the top engineers from AMD, Intel, Microsoft, and NVIDIA will be scrutinising every line of your code. And rightly so, since the majority of the world's specialist hardware press use 3DMark to rate the performance of the latest graphics cards, processors, smartphones and tablets.

We take benchmarking seriously, but our workplace is friendly and casual. You'll work with equally talented programmers, artists, designers and engineers who will inspire and motivate you.

Programming is creative work so we give you the flexibility to choose the hours that bring out your best. We work in small, self-managed teams that control their own tasks. You'll enjoy a great deal of autonomy and responsibility while making a significant and visible contribution to our software.

You've been a professional programmer for five or more years, with an emphasis on graphics programming. Whether you're coming to us from game development, visual applications, the demoscene or elsewhere, you are motivated by the thrill of turning lines of code into something beautiful.

You must be hungry to seek out new and interesting things, keeping up with new techniques in graphics and coding in general. You love to share your knowledge to inspire those around you. You enjoy tackling new languages and platforms and adapt quickly when a problem calls for new skills.

You should also have an M.Sc. in Computer Science or a related field and good written and spoken English.

We strive to balance energy and rest, work and home. We have height-adjustable, standing desks, for those that want them. There's a gym for working out and in-house massage for winding down. And for after hours relaxing, we're only a short walk from the award-winning Gallows Bird pub with its wide selection of real ales.

This is a rare chance to join a successful Finnish company that is number one in its field. Since 1998, 3DMark has been wowing gamers with incredible real-time graphics. Apply now and wow us with your skills and enthusiasm.
