VRMark includes a range of performance tests based on different levels of VR content. HMD hardware testing
VRMark uses a combination of software and external hardware to measure latency to a high degree of accuracy and precision. Latency describes the time taken between an action, such as moving your head, to seeing the result of that action on your headset's display. Low latency is essential for creating a feeling of presence in VR.
VRMark can also test and measure display response time and persistence. Low persistence displays make VR more comfortable by reducing motion blur. With UL, we additionally offer lab-based HMD display quality testing based on UL Display Quality standards.
Independent and impartial
VRMark uses a custom graphics engine developed in-house to ensure there is no bias towards a particular vendor. It also ensures that the results are not skewed by the vendor-specific optimizations found in commercial game engines.
